The LIR Strengthens International Networking Through the Henriette Herz Scouting Program

As part of the Henriette Herz Scouting Program of the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation, Prof. Dr. Marianne Müller has the opportunity to nominate up to three international researchers for a Humboldt Research Fellowship and to invite them to the institute for joint research stays.

The Alexander von Humboldt Foundation is one of Germany’s leading funding organizations for international scientific cooperation. Through its global Humboldt Network, it strengthens long-term scientific partnerships and promotes international exchange across disciplinary and national boundaries. Through the Henriette Herz Scouting Program, the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation enables successful researchers in Germany to specifically recruit outstanding international postdocs for joint research projects at German research institutions. Selected scouts may nominate up to three candidates for a Humboldt Research Fellowship, which is awarded directly following a positive formal review. Her selection as a Henriette Herz Scout recognizes not only her scientific visibility but also Prof. Dr. Müller’s personal commitment to promoting early-career researchers—an area she has actively shaped for many years through mentoring, structured guidance, and the early integration of young researchers into international research networks. The program’s goal is to foster new disciplinary and international collaborations, attract talented researchers to Germany, and further expand the global Humboldt network.

For the LIR, the selection of Prof. Dr. Marianne Müller as a Henriette Herz Scout is an important step toward further internationalization. This opportunity will allow for the targeted expansion of international collaborations, the generation of new scientific impulses, and the establishment of long-term research relationships.

Further updates on the selection and arrival of the fellows and their research projects at the LIR will be provided in due course.
